A Booming Success and a New Opportunity!

Last weekend saw myself and two Shift Speaker Training superstars MC-ing the Booming in the Bust event, run by Global1 Training out here in Australia.

Our very own Platinum Million Dollar Masterclass Member, David Penglase hosted the Melbourne event; and Terriane Palmer, Secrets of Selling From Stage Member (our Silver Mentoring Program) hosted the Brisbane event while I headed up the team from Sydney.

For those of you who attended any of the events I’d love to hear your thoughts!

It was a great event in many ways.  For participants, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a multi-speaker event with such incredible quality content.  For me personally, I was able to connect with some inspiring people, and support some awesome speakers with their presentations.  We had a number of speakers at the event who had never closed a sale from stage before- but had been speaking and educating for many years.  So it really was an honour to help them tap into a new way of presenting their information and provide their audiences with “the next steps”.  I won’t share their names until I have their permission- but suffice to say I have been most humbled by the experience- and I’ll keep you posted.

Perhaps the most awe-inspiring of the line up was David Bassau.  The founder of Opportunity International, this gentleman is a philanthropic force to be reckoned with.  Million Dollar Masterclass member, Tricia Jenkins, and I had the great pleasure of lunch with him, and I was blessed to be able to pick the brains of someone who not only built up his business and retired by age 35, but now, 30 years on is playing a level of game to which I can only dream of aspiring.  One of the most exciting projects is perhaps his joint venture with the North Korean government to provide finance to a communist state with previously no finance provision.  And here I was chatting to him over lunch!

It was a true pleasure to interview him for the audience at the event- and the learnings about entrepreneurialism and contribution were extraordinary.

Here is a man who tells me his greatest fear is an idea.  Because as soon as he has one- he knows it will be done.  Imagine having that strength of conviction?

I just arrived back in London after a whirl-wind trip back to Sydney for the event, but suffice to say it was well-worth the long plane trip to meet David, and I can’t wait to get more involved with Opportunity International!

Back in Old London Town!

Hi!

After 4 months on the road, we’re home and I am pleased to announce that the suitcases are indeed unpacked!  Aside from a rather odd smell emanating from the washing machine (that is mysteriously difficult to track down) it seems our apartment hasn’t missed us too much.

Greg and I caught up with Rick and Jane Otton for a lovely French meal in Covent Garden on our first day back.  Odd how it takes being in a different country to actually meet up with people!  They are Aussie residents, but we’ve never actually been able to connect there!

I think I wrote about this recently didn’t I?  So I have a new theory.  If you want to meet up with someone who is too busy to take your appointment, find out when they are travelling overseas and go and meet them there.  Perhaps people are easy to access when they’re away from their offices?!

On Sunday we actually spent some tourist time following our noses around London which was fun, because Greg hadn’t seen a lot of the sights.

And it seems that the universe is wanting to keep me very busy at the moment , with more speaking opportunities than I can say yes to.

One big, fun one is the upcoming Global 1 event: Booming in the Bust which I have been invited to not only MC in Sydney, but to invite 2 of our top students to MC in Melbourne and Brisbane.  So it will be a Secrets of Selling From Stage showcase across Australia on the weekend of the 19-21st of June.  One of my all time intellectual idols is speaking: Harry S Dent- so if you’re around that weekend make a point of getting along.

It is going to be run simultaneously in 3 cities: Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and is a great line up of very smart and savvy speakers.  That’s right, 12 speakers are going to fly around the country throughout the weekend, so no matter what city you’re in, you get the opportunity to learn from these economic and business greats!  People like my intellectual idol, economist Harry S Dent, publishing guru Mark Victor Hansen; millionaire maker, Loral Langmeier; Joel Comm ; Ari Galper and loads more.

When I’m not on stage, I’m going to be taking notes- because the distinctions that I know will be made about the current economic climate, and how to cash in on the opportunities that it provides will be priceless.

The weekend will cover all The Knowledge You Need For Financial Certainty In This Economy…

  • Discover Smart New Strategies You’ll Need To Skyrocket Your Business In This Economy
  • Create Your New Business/New Revenue Streams Based On Newly Emerging Market Trends
  • Discover How You Can Have Additional Income Streams That Will Be Highly Profitable In The Downturn
  • Become More Valuable In The Employment Marketplace

Plus, come and see what can happen when you apply the lessons you learn in the Shift Speaker Training program!

I have been given a limited number of free tickets to the event and would love to see you there. For your scholarship ticket to the event, plus the follow-up implementation program, otherwise valued at $3,018 go to the link below:

Going back home to London

Hey there!

I can hardly contain my excitement at the moment as today Greg and I are jumping on the plane and heading home to London.  So by the time you are reading this we’ll be at around 38,000 ft, give or take!

I have to say after 4 months on the road I am missing my own bed and looking forward to putting the suitcases in the cupboard (at least for two weeks!)  Even for a gypsy like me you need to unpack every now and then.

That said, the last 4 months have been a very productive time in terms of business.  I am a firm believer that if you want to expand the opportunities available to you, get on a plane and change city!  What seems par for the course in your home town, is a great asset to someone on the other side of the world.

The networks that I have in London are good for my colleagues in London, but priceless for my colleagues in Australia looking to break into the London market.  So if your horizons are looking a little narrow- my suggestion: Get on a Plane!

But today- it’s time to head home, unpack and relax for a bit.  The double decker buses, black cabs and summer time in the parks of London await.  Yay!

Speak to you soon from the European summer!

Love Jo
