So, another exciting and positive week rolls past brimming with business lessons. Don’t you love it when your business teaches you something about yourself? Everything, including business, is a reflection of our true selves and as long as we stay integral to this then we shouldn’t go too far off course. At the moment, we’re busy on a big automation project. From the outside it won’t look too exciting . . . but everything is getting set up toward supporting us when we start a family.
And that is exciting!
I’m spending most of my time in front of the green screen in my studio in our new home. I just love the space here! Or if I’m not doing that, I’m gazing out my office window to the olive tree and beyond . . . when I should be writing emails and copy and stuff like that.
Being a star profile, the automation side of things is not something that comes naturally to me. I prefer to be up there on stage and being with you! But to have a sustainable, ongoing profitable business, sometimes we have to do the stuff we don’t want to do.
I think this is the difference between a business owner and employee in the end. Are you going to do the stuff you don’t WANT to do, to get the result that you DO want to have?
On that note, enjoy the newsletter this week. It’s jampacked full of awesome website tips for you and your business growth. Yep, it’s all about the techie stuff most of us speakers hate doing . . . but get the automation of your website right and it’s the place where you’ll start to see sale after sale after sale . . . even in your sleep.
And I think you’ll find that result very sexy indeed.
This week has been a very family oriented one for me… Friday night was a small engagement party in Hobart with my family-which was LOADS of fun. I’m really close to my family here, and love catching up with all my aunts, uncles and cousins!
Then on Sunday it was my Mum’s 60th birthday. We surprised her with a delightful cruise down the Derwent River to a wonderful venue called Peppermint Bay. As my sisters Kath, Emma and I worked on the speech, we discovered she had packed over 7,200 lunchboxes in her time… WHOA!
The rest of the week was looking at wedding venues for our own Big Day in January. Oh my Lord. I’m in the events industry, but I’m telling you… finding a wedding venue is no mean feat. I’ll let you know how we progress.
It honestly rocks to be able to take some time to spend with family like this though. Make it a mission to create a SUPERLATIVE LIFESTYLE BUSINESS! You’ll never regret it!
You have to be careful what you wish for!
Last week, after an incredibly successful round of Shift presentation Secrets evets (or 1-day Intro events) around Australia- the 3-day intensive training (Presentation PROFITS) Sold Out! That’s right, with 130 people in the room we absolutely could not fit another soul in! Which was great news for me but no so great for the dozens of people waiting on the waiting list to be called in case someone decided to roll over to next year!
But the collective prayers of these Aussies seem to have been heard! Much to the upset of my staff. Let me explain…
The venue we had booked for our event, called us up and said “we’ve put you in another room- its about the same size, you won’t mind will you?” Mind?! I think they thought our event was a quiet sit down affair where everyone would squeeze in and not move for the whole day.
They obviously didn’t recognise that a Shift Training is interactive, full of exercises and lots of loud music!
We flew Tam to Melbourne to pore over floor plans and measure chairs, but no matter how we shook it, their change had meant we wouldn’t even fit the 130 people in any more. Grrrrrrrr!
So thankfully the great people at CQ venues in Queen St have come to our rescue- with a lovely big room. Which was lucky really considering EVERY OTHER VENUE in Melbourne was booked out that weekend! Ahhhh- the joys of running events.
The problem is now 130 people (ourselves included) have to re-organize our selves into a new venue (did I mention Grrr?).
But the good news is for those people who simply couldn’t wait another year- like Christine- they don’t have to. You see the room at QC is bigger – so we could COMFORTABLY fit in another few profit-minded souls.

The moral of this story- never underestimate the prayers and affirmations of a few like-minded individuals to wreak havoc on otherwise perfectly laid plans!
Well, we’re back?! Three weeks away feels like it was a lifetime. As you probably know by now the last three weeks we’ve been cruising across the Atlantic and partaking of all things holiday-ish with our good friends Andrew and Daryl Grant, Paul and Mary Blackburn and numerous members of both the Shift Speaker Training Silver Program and the Million Dollar Masterclass.
It’s remarkable how such an extended time away from the office, with consistently new experiences, changes one’s perspective on life and business. I won’t reveal all the details here, but suffice to say Greg and I have some big plans for this year. This will mean loads of extraordinary opportunities for you. The first of these will be this Thursday on my postponed “ABCs of Increasing Your Income from Speaking Webinar”.
I know that some of you waited on the line for me, and I didn’t arrive last Thursday. SORRY! You see my plane out of New York was cancelled, so we had to wait for HOURS in Washington, which meant I was mid-air while you were hanging around in the gotowebinar waiting room! It’s been a big week here in London for the Team. Last weekend I spoke at “The Millionaire Bootcamp for Women”. It was a very successful weekend with some fantastic feedback from the participants. It was also a great opportunity for me to connect with some friends- some new, some old.
At the Bootcamp I invited the first people to join me on “The Lifestyle Shift Accelerator” Program. The response was awesome- so I can’t wait. This is a new program I’ll be running in January next year. It is not just for speakers, but for any business owner who wants to make a life, not just a living. So keep your ears out for more information about that one!
